On Saturday, July 5th the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) hosts Local Authors' Day in conjunction with their next-door neighbor, The Center for Wooden Boats. As part of the festivities we'll lead a special walk: the short stairway route option detailed in Chapter 10.
MOHAI has invited a slew of local Seattle authors into its cavernous Grand Atrium space, including us. In addition to its vibrant permanent exhibits, MOHAI is hosting a tasty special exhibition called "Chocolate: The Exhibition." To add to the interest, adjoining Lake Union Park will be filled with booths and exhibits for the annual Wooden Boats Festival.
Check out the festivities, then join us for the walk! We'll climb from MOHAI up to the center of the vibrant neighborhood atop Queen Anne hill, using the stairs as scenic byways to neighborhood nooks and crannies and incredible city views. We’ll also learn some of the history of this beautiful Seattle neighborhood on a hill.
Walk - Saturday, July 5th from 2:30-4:00 PM, starting outside the front doors of MOHAI
Distance - 2.6 miles
Steps Up - 476
Steps Down - 621
More details, including the author lineup, can be found at MOHAI's Facebook page.
